Internships
ECAC offers a variety of internships throughout the year for college students seeking school credit or anyone else looking for rewarding experience with a nonprofit organization. Our internships are usually organized around the school season with openings in the Fall, Spring, & Summer but we are flexible to fit your needs. Whether you are looking for hands-on experience with refugees and immigrants, experience with nonprofit management and development, or experience with graphic design ECAC has a place for you in its dynamic and diverse work environment.

RESETTLEMENT AND PLACEMENT (R&P) INTERNSHIP:
Assist the Resettlement and Placement (R&P) Case Manager and caseworkers through administrative work and hands on interaction with refugee clients. Previous work with refugees preferred but not required.
 
JOB DEVELOPER INTERNSHIP:
Work with our Job Developers to provide the services needed to gain meaningful employment for our refugee and immigrant clients. The program includes assessment, job readiness training, counseling, referrals and placement.
 
EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP:
Work with our Job Developers to research and find job opportunities for immigrant and refugee clients. The intern will also build relationships between ECAC and potential employers.
 
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP:
Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with community outreach, the coordination of the Family Partners Program, volunteer training and orientation, and other special projects. Previous experience with refugee partnering/befriending required.
 
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP:
Assist the Executive Director in research, communication, fundraising, and other duties necessary for the improvement and growth of the Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago.
 
PROGRAM DIRECTOR INTERNSHIP:
Assist the Program Director in completing the quantitative and administrative work necessary to oversee the direction of the Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago.
 
MEDIA & DESIGN INTERNSHIP:
Provide ECAC with website and social media management and assist with graphic design and multimedia communications.
 
OTHER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
Depending on our current needs we may be able to offer other internships in your field of interest. In addition to the above opportunities, we have had interns working on: English as a Second Language, Health Outreach, Accounting, Special Research Projects, and Grant Writing/Research.
